[Title] Electronic properties of iridates with significant electron correlation and strong spin-orbit coupling
[Abstract] Recently, 5d transition metal oxides have been actively investigated as an emergence of various electronic properties are expected by the competitive or concerted effect of electron correlation and spin-orbit interaction. In this seminar, firstly, I will give an overview of metal insulator transition of pyrochlore iridates Ln2Ir2O7 on the basis of the paper “Metal–Insulator Transitions in Pyrochlore Oxides Ln2Ir2O7: J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 80, 094701 (2011)” which is received 21st Outstanding Paper Award of the Physical Society of Japan. In addition, I will talk about recent result of geometrically frustrated iridate Ca5Ir3O12.
